Just in case you missed it: the New York Mets no longer hold the ignominious record of most games played without a no-hitter. After over 50 years and 8,019 contests, it finally came courtesy of Johan Santana’s impressive and gutsy performance. I realize this will likely be of interest only to long-suffering Mets fans like myself, but long-suffering Mets fans like myself must take the opportunity to publicly rejoice on those few occasions that give us cause to do so.
